Course Description
Did you know the number one reason for failure among leaders in the nation’s top companies is poor interpersonal skills? It’s true and this is an opportunity for you to learn about developing your people and leadership skills while networking with others in the broadcast engineering field. Plan now to attend a proven leadership training workshop.
SBE has presented the SBE Leadership Development Course since 1997 (NAB sponsored this course from 1965 to 1995). This intense course is designed specifically for broadcast engineers who have or aspire to have management responsibilities. SBE offers the course in cooperation with instructor Rodney Vandeveer, a professional leadership and management trainer and associate professor of Organizational Leadership and Supervision at Purdue University.
Designed to take technically-adept people and instill in them sound leadership, supervisory and management skills, the SBE Leadership Development Course is equally beneficial for those who are already in management and for those without prior management or supervisory experience.
This highly interactive course will be challenging and rewarding, and includes training in the following areas:
- Understanding the Dynamics of Leadership
- CAPS Study: Discover Your Leadership Behavioral Style
- Communications
- Effective Motivation Techniques
- Building Winning Teams (team process and team advantage)
- Responsible Management
- Leadership is an Attitude
- Managing Conflict, Counseling and Discipline
This three-day event challenges you to refine your leadership skills as you better understand and improve how you interact with others. Bring a team and share the experience of this highly interactive event. Come, enjoy, learn and have some fun growing as a leader in the process.
