SBE National Awards

Congratulations to the 2009-2010 SBE National Award Winners

The Society of Broadcast Engineers has announced the winners of the 2009-2010 National Award Winners. Winners will be recognized at the SBE National Awards Dinner on October 27, 2010 in Madison, Wis. We would like to thank the SBE National Awards Committee, chaired by Jim Leifer, CPBE and committee members Leonard Charles, CPBE, Bill Ryall and Marcelo Sanchez, CPBE. More information about the 2009-10 Award Winners.

Chapter and Individual Awards Program

The annual Awards Program recognizes those who have contributed to SBE, the industry or their chapters in a number of categories. Winners are presented their awards at the annual Awards Dinner at the annual SBE National Meeting.

Nominations are now open for the 2010-11 SBE National Awards

Some SBE members go above and beyond the call of duty to their job and to SBE and the broadcast industry.  There are local chapters that do an excellent job of serving their members.  Often these efforts go unrecognized.  Don’t let that happen this year! Fill out an Awards Nomination Form and recognize a deserving individual or chapter.

Chapter Awards Nomination Form

Individual Awards Nomination Form

There are five chapter and six individual award categories for which to choose when making a nomination.  In addition, three chapter awards are determined by using statistical information on record at the National office.

SBE also presents a Lifetime Achievement Award. Nominations for the SBE Lifetime Achievement Award are handled separately. Click here for more details.

Five of the chapter awards are broken into two classes (Class A and Class B) so that chapters with vastly different sizes are not competing with each other. Class A is made up of chapters with membership less than the median; Class B contains chapters with membership greater than the median.

Award winners will be notified in July and invited to attend the 2010 SBE National Meeting. The 2010 SBE National Meeting is held in conjunction with the SBE Chapter 24 and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Broadcasters Clinic, in Madison, Wis. at the Madison Mariott West Hotel on October 26-27, 2010.
