Local SBE Chapters - There are more than 100 active chapters of SBE throughout the United States. Chapters meet on a regular basis, giving members the opportunity to network with peers, learn about new and existing technologies and share their knowledge.
Frequency Coordination - SBE maintains a vital frequency coordination program. Volunteers from across the country maintain local BAS databases and provide coordination to Part 74 frequency users. SBE also offers frequency coordination for events, including games of the National Football League (NFL). In addition, SBE represents broadcast engineers' interests in the BAS transition.
Government Representation - The Society represents broadcast engineers and their interests to legislators and government agencies through the FCC Liaison Committee, SBE's General Counsel and various filings.
Emergency Alert System (EAS) - SBE has been involved from the beginning with the EAS. Through its EAS Committee, the Society continues to work with the FCC and manufacturers to develop, implement and troubleshoot the system.
