Three Chapters to Host SBE RF Safety Course (February 5, 2010)

The next SBE RF Safety Course is taking place Wednesday, February 24 from 2:30-5:45 p.m. Eastern.  Several chapters have reserved a login port for area members in the following cities:

West Hartford, Connecticut - SBE Chapter 14

Riverton, Wyoming - SBE Chapter 129

Jackson, Mississippi - SBE Chapter 125

The SBE RF Safety Course provides an overview of RF radiation issues and practices for broadcasters.  Topics include biological effects of RF radiation and the distinct differences between RF radiation and ionizing radiation, FCC and OSHA regulations - what they are and what you need to do to comply, workplace hazards, transmitter sites, SNG and ENG trucks, remote operations (where news personnel can find problems such as on rooftops) and more.  Instructing the course once again is highly regarded RF safety expert Richard Strickland of RF Safety Solutions.

If your chapter or company wishes to host the course, click here to learn more.  There is no cost to reserve a log-in port.

Individuals may also register for the course.
